Belief works both ways : positive and negative. The more negative we are, we mold our life curve accordingly. Each negative thought works like a prick on your arm. The more negative thought the more the arm suffers ultimately losing the sensitivity to pain. This is how negative thoughts work in life. The more positive you are and more sensitive you become to pain. Slowly you proceed to a state where you start blaming fate whereas it is you who is the root cause.

I recently happen to squeeze out some time of my so called “busy” life to explore the book dimension. I was lucky enough to catch hold of two novels, both quite unique in its own regard. After a time span of almost a year I happen to catch up with my reading habit. One was a detective novel written by Michael Connelly. I happen to like it, as it was written in a continuous flow. I generally prefer books where the writer happens to nullify the differences between multiple scenarios in a soothing manner. Many a times I tend to loose interest, when continuity is not sustained and Michael Connelly seems to have done it quite well.

Here I learnt that an interesting spicy idea is not enough to capture one’s attention but a simple idea may sell better if we can present it properly.

Another book was the ‘The Three Faces of Eve’. it was based on the true story of a woman who had  dissociative  identity  disorder. I really liked it as it happens to bring out the whole truth of split personality the word that we are familiar with. We as movie viewers are depicted of horrifying crimes being committed when people with such identity disorder are involved. We slowly and steadily get into the habit of reacting (not in a normal way) when the word “split personality” touches our ears. Reading the book made me rectify myself of the belief that such people can’t lead a normal life. They do lead a life not much different than we do…

It seems selecting a game console isn’t that easy. My initial thought was to get it from USA where the pricing played the most critical part. But there the hitch was the PAL and NTSC formats. We as British followers have evidently hooked ourselves to the PAL coding format.

We belong to such a species that we can never settle our quench of thirst for anything. Games are actually region free, but now I started picturing myself watching high quality movies. Movies unfortunately strictly follow the region coding mechanism. Now as I have become a movie freak from a game lover, would now, possibly won’t be able to enjoy the wide variety of PAL movies back here. So buying from USA was out of question.

One hurdle overtaken now puts me into the most difficult part, choosing Xbox 360 or PS3. Xbox 360 was brought into the market almost two years earlier than its rival PS3. So it had the added experience factor in the gaming world. Consequently it not only had a more exhaustive list of games than PS3 but also the trust the game developers have acquired in the process of developing games for Xbox. PS3 being new, its hardware architecture is still yet to be explored. Games demanding more resources will definitely cry out for PS3.

The war on Blu Ray Disc and HD DVD was another factor to put me on hold till now. Also the rumors floating around of a likely price cut is also a hindering element. Finally as I had to have an outcome I zeroed down on the PS3. Almost a whole day is used up upon deciding where to place my master piece. Just as I open my computer to decide upon the accessories to be bought alongside, I happen to notice an update on the PS3. It clearly states a new hardware upgrade for the PS3 which brings me rolling back again to where I initially started……

This being my first blog wanted to explain my meaning of “Nxt..”. By naming it “Nxt..” I don’t mean to say I will be writing something spectacular about the future, instead it will be illustrations of my views and observations from the time of creation of this blog.

I like many others have ultimately conquered the quest to become a software engineer which is a vicious circle. I call it “vicious circle” maybe because I am only one and a half years old in this so called IT industry, or maybe I am fortunate enough to see the truth at an early point. I arrived at this view point, not because the MNC am working for is not in par with other MNCs, but it is actually one of the leaders. Now many will have the view point that this guy is offending our prestigious and pompous jobs, as he is not in the proper segment maybe, but let me tell you guys that I am actually in the core division.

I came to this opinion seeing the amount of energy used by our colleagues, for creating something out of the unalterable ideas being presented to them. We are the people who actually make the reversible ideas actually irreversible. These thoughts or ideas are being presented by leaders who are stationed millions of miles away, who hardly know their real devotees.

I think devotee is the correct word for such people, as they go to any extent to please their inalterable lords. I too have joined the workforce of these devotees. You have to or else you will turn into a powerless alien. During my one year I have attended many meetings where the devotees try to understand the ideas of the lords. The problem is even if the idea is a rough sketch, the devotees sacrifice day and night to bring out the idea even though it is still muddy. While we here have almost meta-morphed the idea from a muddy to a concrete state, we are told that the IDEA is not feasible at all. It is then we too unite with them and say “Yes, we too thought that it was not feasible”.

What I want to bring out is that we are so preoccupied in pleasing the lords that we waste behemoth amount of time, money & energy, and in the process end up with no results. Since we work endlessly to make the idea concrete, we now proudly announce as being the creative bunch, but which is not the case after all….
